Classes & Summer Camps

Kids Money School classes and summer camps are listed below by age or grade level. You can scroll down the page or follow these links:

Each class is a total of 7.5 hours (1 hour 15 minutes class once a week for 6 weeks), and each camp is a total of 12 hours (3 hours a day for 4 days over 1 week). 

The Schedule page notes which classes and camps are currently open for registration, their specific days and times, and their start dates.


Classes

Classes are scheduled for one hour per week for six weeks, after school or Saturday morning.

  • Elementary School Students

    • Money 101
      • An introduction to money basics, including earning money, saving money, spending money (budgeting, wants versus needs, being a smart shopper), banks (checking and savings accounts, ATMs, credit cards, and loans), and charity.

    • Money 202
      • A deeper examination of money matters and making good financial decisions when earning, saving, spending, borrowing, and investing. (Prerequisite: Money 101 or Money Camp 101)

  • Middle School Students

    • Money 101
      • An introduction to money basics, including earning money (jobs, taxes, allowances), saving money (short term and long term savings and investments), spending money (budgeting, wants versus needs, prioritizing financial goals, being a smart consumer), banks (checking and savings accounts, ATMs, debit cards, credit cards, and loans), and charity.

    • Money 202
      • A deeper examination of money matters and making good financial decisions when earning, saving, spending, borrowing, and investing. (Prerequisite: Money 101 or Money Camp 101)

      • An introduction to money basics, including earning money (jobs, taxes, allowances), saving money (short term savings, long term investments, rates of return, stocks and bonds), spending money (budgeting, wants versus needs, prioritizing financial goals, comparison shopping, and being a smart consumer), borrowing money (credit cards, loans, the real cost of purchases, and establishing credit), banks (checking and savings accounts, ATMs, debit cards, paying bills online), and charity.

      • A deeper examination of money matters and making good financial decisions when earning, saving, spending, borrowing, and investing. (Prerequisite: Money 101 or Money Camp 101)

      • Learn how to find a job to match your unique skills, research age-appropriate jobs, fill out a job application, prepare for an interview, and communicate at work.

    • Starting a Business
      • Do you have a business idea to earn money? We’ll guide you through the steps of starting your own business, including refining your idea, doing research, and writing a business plan.

    • Buying a Car
      • Make good financial decisions when buying or leasing a car. Find out how to research cars, compare new versus used, and learn about financing (down payments, monthly payments), automobile expenses, insurance, and regular maintenance.

    • Preparing for a Career
      • What kind of career do you want, and what should you know or do to prepare for it? We’ll help you explore your unique skills and interests and research careers (education requirements, salary, potential employers) and internships.

Kids Money School Camps run three hours per day, four days per week (Monday through Thursday).

      • A course for working young adults about a variety of subjects, including building a career, taxes, creating a budget and sticking to it, saving money, using credit cards without abusing them, the importance of building credit, being a smart consumer, buying a car, and renting an apartment.
